Unearthed 1987 Paramount memo reveals possible casting options for Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Somewhere out there exists a parallel universe with Wesley Snipes as Geordi. Tim Russ would have been an interesting choice as well. No other names are immediately recognizable to me.
